背景介紹：

又是一年高考時(shí)，高考，對(duì)于你究竟意味著什么？
是一次機(jī)會(huì)，一種經(jīng)歷亦或是一份回憶？高考的經(jīng)歷，留給每一個(gè)人的有幸福，也有悲哀，有歡笑，也有痛哭。但不管是何種狀態(tài)，高考都是每一個(gè)人另一段人生的起點(diǎn)。高考的經(jīng)歷，是一個(gè)人由不成熟走向成熟的標(biāo)志。
一個(gè)人一生需要記憶的東西有很多，有的可以永遠(yuǎn)收藏，有的可能瞬間即逝，有的可以淡淡而去，有的可能深深留住。對(duì)于參加過高考的人來說，高考這個(gè)記憶，可能永遠(yuǎn)不能抹去，永遠(yuǎn)不會(huì)消失。不管多少年以后，參加過高考的人，回憶高考時(shí)的情景，都會(huì)十分清晰，猶如剛剛發(fā)生。

Gaokao, as one essential part of our education system, is dreadful to those seniors, but expected by them at the same time. As we all know, Gaokao is often called the dark before the dawn. As long as you can pass the college entrance examination with a high score, then you’ll enjoy a nearly two months’ holiday in a pleasant mood. But if you fail the exam, you will have to bear both the inner pressure of self-accusation and the outer pressure from your families. Luckily, I belonged to the former. What’s more, my deskmate and I enrolled in the same department of the same university in Nanjing. After graduation, I went back to my hometown while she chose to stay in Nanjing. Until now, our friendship has lasted for nearly 10 years, and it will bind us tighter in the rest of my life.

Today is the 25th anniversary of a huge event and a dark day which we cannot talk about, so we talk about Gaokao. Gaokao is the extension of the imperial examination which was abolished in late Qing Dynasty. During the turmoil of the proletarian Culture Revolution, Gaokao was also abandoned. Reinstated in 1978, it indeed changed the fate of a great many people. Now, the criticism for the rigid institution of Gaokao has intensified again. But we could not find a replacement for it. It is the fairest system for education in China which has an enormous number of young men to participate in and try to enroll in college. Of course, Gaokao is not the only way to change one’s destiny, but it is still an important one.
